Peggy Wells

Peggy Wells

Athletic Director

Coach Peggy Wells joined the CCS staff in 2017. She has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2020. She and her husband Greg, have three daughters, Megan, Madison and Morgan. Coach Peggy holds an AA from the Baptist Bible College. She has coached high school sports since the late 1980’s – everything from field hockey, basketball, softball, volleyball and swimming. A verse that is precious to her is I Thessalonians 5:18: In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Pastor Joe Friman

Pastor Joe Friman

Coach

Pastor Friman began serving at CCS in 2018. He has attended First Baptist Church of Homestead since 2005 where he serves as the Minister to Students. He and his wife, Kelly, have three children: Jenna, Emily, and Zoe. Pastor Friman holds a Bachelor of Science in Religion with a Concentration in Youth Ministry from the University of Mobile and is currently working toward a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to serving as a Youth Pastor for more than 20 years, Pastor Friman enjoys serving in the worship and education ministries at FBC Homestead. He is also an avid sports fan and has thoroughly enjoyed working with teenagers in athletics at CCS. A verse that is precious to him is Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Sammie Thomas

Coach

Mr. Thomas began serving at CCS in 2021. He and his wife, Felicia attend Summit Church where they serve in the Youth Ministry.  Coach Thomas and Felicia have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the US Army and a retired Regional Chief of State Law Enforcement and holds a BS in Jurisprudence from Liberty University.  Coach Thomas brings over 15 years of coaching experience in a variety of sports, including football, wrestling, basketball, and tee ball.  His favorite scripture is John 14:1-6: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Felicia Thomas

Mrs. Thomas began serving at CCS in 2021. She and her husband, Sammie attend Summit Church where Felicia serves in Hospitality and the Youth Ministry.  They have 4 children and 6 grandchildren, including Saige and Jayden, who are students at CCS. Mrs. Felecia has been coaching alongside Coach Thomas since 2021. Her favorite scripture is I John 4:8: Anyone who does not love, does not know God, because God is Love.
Greg Wells

Greg Wells

Assistant Athletic Director

Mr. Wells has served at CCS since 2018. He has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2020. He and his wife Peggy have three girls: Megan, Madison, and Morgan. Mr. Wells holds a BS from Baptist Bible College and a MS in accounting from Strayer University. He is the Assistant Athletic Director and coaches Boys Basketball as well as Cross Country, and multiple middle school sports. He holds a FACCS certificate in MS Humanities. One of his favorite verses is 1 Kings 2:3: Keep the charge of the LORD your God, walk in His ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, His precepts, and His testimonies. Email: wells.g@colonialchristianschool.org
Alex Pecina

Alex Pecina

Coach

Mr. Pecina has served at CCS since 2006.  He and his wife, Laura, have been members of Summit Church of Homestead since 2015.  Alex and Laura are parents to Isabella, Mikaela, and Gabriella.  Mr. Pecina holds a BA from Florida International University and is commissioned by the Southern Baptist Convention as an ordained minister of the Gospel. Mr. Pecina’s life verse is 1 Corinthians 13:11: When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.

Ashley Eichler

Ms. Eichler joined CCS in 2023. She has attended New Life Sanctuary for many years. She holds an AA in Criminal Justice from Miami-Dade College and a BS in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. A verse that is special to her is Psalm 93:4: Mightier than the waves of the sea is His love for you.
Aryeve Espinosa- Alumni

Coach

Ms. Espinosa is a proud CCS alumnus who has been with CCS since the 9th grade. Since then, she has joined our CCS staff as an administrative assistant. She has attended Summit Church of Homestead Since 2016. She is currently enrolled in Miami Dade College pursuing a degree in Nursing. A verse that she holds close to her heart is Romans 8:28: And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Kaden Caldwell

Mr. Caldwell joined the CCS staff in the fall of 2022.  A 2022 homeschooled graduate, Coach Caldwell played flag football at Colonial.  He attends Princeton Church of the Nazarene where he serves in the Events Organization Ministry. Coach Caldwell currently is a student at Florida Technical College where he studying to be a medical assistant.  His favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.

Lou Martinez

Lou Martinez

Head Coach: Volleyball & Softball

Coach Lou has served at CCS since 2008. He has attended First Baptist Church of Homestead since 1997. He and his wife, Jeri, have a daughter, Brittany. Coach Lou holds an AA in Business Administration from MDCC, and is honorably retired from the Miami-Dade Police Dept., where he served for 30 years as a Deputy Sheriff. He has been actively coaching high school sports since the mid 1980’s, and has held head coaching positions at the varsity level in volleyball, soccer, and softball. A verse that is special to him is Colossians 3:17: And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Brandi Newmark

Ms. Newmark joined CCS in 2023. She has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2023. She is part of the United States Air Force, was a multi-sport athlete in high school, and was a JROTC cadet. She currently has a pilot’s license and intends on becoming a fighter pilot for the Air Force. A verse that is special to her is 2 Timothy 4:7: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Randy Diaz

Mr. Diaz has been on staff at CCS since 2021.  He holds a BA in Christian Ministry from Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and is also certified by FACCS. His favorite Scripture is Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Adrian DeAnda

Mr. DeAnda started coaching at CCS in 2023.  He is a member of One Step Church.  He has a son, Adrian DeAnda III, who is in 5th grade at Colonial.  Mr. DeAnda has been coaching soccer for seven years and is a part-owner and coach of the Homestead Supa Strikas Soccer Club. He enjoys coaching and teaching young people and uses coaching as an opportunity to share the word of God with the children. He uses sports to teach children about life and its challenges. Mr. DeAnda’s favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Sam Ovalle

Mr. Ovalle has served at CCS since 2018.  He and his wife are faithful members of Lifepoint Church where they serve in multiple areas. All four of their children have attended CCS. Coach Sam brings over 18 years of coaching experience in volleyball and basketball. His favorite Bible verse is Psalms 18:1-2: I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Giovanny Morales- Alumni

Coach

Mr. Morales, a graduate from the CCS class of 2023, has been a Patriot since 7th grade.  Immediately after graduation, Coach Morales joined the CCS staff. He is a member of Iglesia Cristo Rey De Reyes.

His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path.
