Pastor Bill Long

Pastor Bill Long

Senior Pastor

Pastor Bill Long has served at SDBC since 2004. He and his wife, Carol, have 4 grown sons, and 13 grandchildren (8 of whom attend, or have attended CCS). Pastor Long graduated from Manahath School of Theology in 1985 with a BA in Pastoral Ministries, did pulpit supply for area churches in Pennsylvania, and worked as a Christian counselor at the Altoona Christian Counseling Center. A verse that is precious to him is 2 Chronicles 16:9: For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.

Mrs. Morrissey has served at CCS since 2004. She has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 1998. She and her husband, John, have two children: John Jr. and Sarah, both CCS graduates and valedictorians. Mrs. Morrissey holds a BS from the University of Miami, MS and Ed.S from Barry University, and Ed.S from Florida International University. She is certified with the State of Florida as a K-12 teacher and reading specialist, and with FACCS as an administrator. A verse that is precious to her is Matthew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Mrs. Pecina has served at CCS since 2015. She has attended Christ Fellowship Redland and Summit Church since 2008. She and her husband, Pastor Alex Pecina, have three children, Isabella, Mikaela, and Gabriella. Mrs. Pecina holds an AA from Miami Dade College and a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Florida International University. She is certified with FACCS as a Social Science Teacher for All Levels. A verse that is precious to her is Colossians 3:17: And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Mrs. Vargas has served at CCS since 2006. She has attended The Bethel Church since 2009. She and her husband, Carlos, have been married since 2017. Mrs. Vargas holds a BS in Elementary Education and a Masters in Reading from Barry University. She is certified with FACCS as an Administrator and Elementary Teacher, as well as with the State of Florida as a K-6 teacher with an ESOL endorsement. A verse that is precious to her is Joshua 1:9: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Ms.  Johnson joined CCS in 2023 and is a proud CCS alumni. She attends Pasos De Fe Church.  She has a beloved son, Ellis. She has 13 years’ experience in Early childhood education. She holds a FCCPC for Pre-K and has gained experience on getting the national accreditation from NAEYC (National Association for Young Children).  A verse that is precious to her is Romans 8:38-39: For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Mrs Nelson has served at CCS since 2018. She has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2020. She and her husband, Blaine, have two beautiful children, Jonathon and Allyssa. Mrs. Nelson has 21 years experience in Early Childhood Education. She holds a FCCPC for Pre-K with a certification in VPK, as well an Advanced Directors Credential. In the past, she has been the Director/Principal of a NAEYC nationally Accredited Preschool, with rolls in Child Care Management such as staff development, Curriculum Specialist and is Conscious Discipline certified for behavior management. She is certified with FACCS as an Early Education Teacher. A verse that is precious to her is “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

Mrs. Lobdell has served at CCS since 2019. She attends First Baptist of Key Largo. She and her husband, Dean, have one son, Cole, who lives in Orlando. Mrs. Lobdell holds a BS from Hyles Anderson College. She is certified with FACCS as an Elementary Teacher. A verse that is precious to her is Proverbs 3:27: Withhold not good from them to whom it is due when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Ms. Pena joined CCS in 2023. She has attended Restoration church since 2021. She has a beloved son, Carlos. Ms. Pena has been in the education realm for almost a decade. She has a bachelors in English Literature from Florida International University. A verse that is precious to her is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Ms. Quintana joined CCS in 2023. She has attended First Baptist Church of Westwood Lake since 2021. She has been teaching for almost 30 years. Ms. Quintana earned a BS in elementary education from Clearwater Christian College. A verse that is precious to her is Psalm 46:10: Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.

Mrs. Guzman joined the CCS family in 2019. As of August 2019, she joined Iglesia Bautista Aposento Alto, as her husband, Alberto, is now the pastor of this church. Previously, they attended First Baptist Church of Homestead from 2003 – 2019. They have one child, Neftali. Mrs. Guzman holds a BA from Florida International University. She is certified with FACCS as an Elementary Teacher. A verse that is precious to her is Psalm 23:6: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Mrs. Valenzuela has served at CCS since 2006. She has attended EBS Church since 1993. She and her husband, Osiel, have one child, Christopher. Mrs. Valenzuela holds an AA and BS from The University of Phoenix. She is certified with FACCS as an Elementary Teacher. A verse that is precious to her is Isaiah 40:31: But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength: They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Mrs. DeLong has served at CCS since 2019. She has attended Island Community Church in Islamorada since 1981. She and her husband, Jon, have one daughter, Sara, who lives in Tavernier. Mrs. DeLong has a BS from Hyles Anderson College. She is certified with FACCS as an Elementary Teacher. A verse that is precious to her is Psalm 119:16: I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Ms. Camejo joined CCS in 2022. She attends Palm Vista Community Church. She has a beloved daughter, Isabella. Ms. Camejo graduated from Miami Dade College with a degree in Business Administration and also holds a BA in Marketing from Florida International University. She is certified with Search and Teach, Florida State, and with FACCS as an elementary teacher and has been teaching for 7 years. A verse that is precious to her is Isaiah 26:4: Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.

Madai R. Cruz joined CCS in 2021. She has attended Esmirna BIC since 1998, where she and her husband Juan, have been the youth leaders for 10 years. Together they have two children, Jesse and Mila. She holds an AA in Speech Pathology from Miami Dade College and a BS in Early Childhood Education from Florida International University. Mrs. Cruz is also certified with FACCS as an elementary teacher. Previous to joining CCS, she worked in the After school setting with children for over 13 years. A verse that is precious to her is 1 Timothy 4:12: Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Mrs. Vega joined CCS in 2022. She attends Life Pointe Church in Homestead, Florida. She and her husband, Rey, have been married since 2006. God has blessed them with 5 adopted children. Mrs. Vega holds a BS in Elementary Education K-6, with an ESOL Endorsement from Barry University and is certified in the state of Florida. She has 17 years of teaching experience combined between private and charter schools. Ms Lopes has served at CCS since 2014. She attends a home church led by her father, Pastor Sergio Lopes since 2020. Miss Lopes holds a B.S. in Elementary Education with ESOL and Reading endorsements from Florida International University. She is certified with FACCS and in the process of being state certified with the state of Florida. A verse that is precious to her is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Mr. Wells has served at CCS since 2018. He has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2020. He and his wife Peggy have three girls: Megan, Madison, and Morgan. Mr. Wells holds a BS from Baptist Bible College and a MS in accounting from Strayer University. He is the Assistant Athletic Director and coaches Boys Basketball as well as Cross Country, and multiple middle school sports. He holds a FACCS certificate in MS Humanities. One of his favorite verses is 1 Kings 2:3: Keep the charge of the LORD your God, walk in His ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, His precepts, and His testimonies.

Mrs. Triana has served at CCS since 2006. She and her husband have answered God’s call to be part of the church plant for Summit Church of Homestead since 2014. She and her husband Richard, have two children: Isabella and Anthony. Mrs. Triana holds an AA from Miami Dade College and a BS from The University of Phoenix. She is certified with FACCS as a Secondary Teacher with endorsements in History, Geography, Economics, and Social Science. A verse that is precious to her is James 1:22: But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Mr.  Johnson served at CCS from 2005 – 2011 and joined us again in 2022. Mr. Johnson is the Senior Pastor of Pasos De Fe Church. He and his wife, Beverly, have six children. He is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned his Associates in Pastoral Ministry  He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry and Christian Education at Regents University. A Bible verse which is very special to him is from Ezekiel 33:7: Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.

Mr. Diaz has served at CCS since 2021.  He holds a BA in Christian Ministry from Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and is also certified by FACCS. Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Tom Davis joined CCS in 2021. He has attended Restoration Church since 2018 where he serves as Director of Missions. He and his wife, Jesika, have one daughter, Samantha. Colonel Davis recently ended a successful military career of more than 30 years. He holds an AA from Miami-Dade College, BA from the University of Miami ,and JD from St. Thomas University School of Law and has successfully completed the Air War College. A verse that is precious to him is Psalm 56:3-4: Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?

David Bouwsma

Mr. Bouwsma is a 30+ year veteran teacher who joined CCS in 2019. He has attended Pinelands Presbyterian Church since 2008. He and his wife, Lisa, have four children: Jennifer, Peter, Jonathan and Jessica. He has an AA from Miami Dade College, a BS in Computer Science from Calvin College, and an MAR and M-Div from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He holds Florida state educational certifications in both Mathematics 6-12 and Computers K-12, and has earned a certificate of computer programming, and PLTW certification in robotics and automation. He is certified with FACCS in Bible, General Math, Chemistry, and Computer Technology. One of Mr. Bouwsma’s favorite Bible verses is Romans 12:21: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Cyndi Viggiani joined CCS in 2021. She has attended Pinelands Presbyterian Church since 2006. She and her husband, Norman, have four children: Alexandra, Karissa, Nathan, and Geneva. Mrs. Viggiani holds a BS in English from Liberty University, and an MS from Florida International University. She has over 20 years of teaching experience. A verse that is precious to her is  John 1:14: And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Mrs. Easom has served at CCS since 2017. She and her husband attend Summit Church of Homestead with their three children. Mrs. Easom holds a BS in Education from Barry University, a MS in Curriculum from FIU, and an ED.S. in Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri. She is certified through the state of Florida to teach multiple subjects from PK-12th grade. She is certified through FACCS as a Professional Elementary Teacher and a Guidance Counselor. A verse that is precious to her is Galatians 6:14: But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Mrs. Barnett has served at CCS since 2017. She has been married 33 years and served alongside her husband, Richard Barnett, Pastor of Victory Baptist Church, since 2019. They have five children, Nichole, Ashleigh, Jesse, Richard, and Lindsey. Mrs. Barnett holds a Bachelor of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary and is certified with FACCS as  an Elementary Teacher. She has worked in Youth Ministry since 1989. A verse that is precious to her is Psalms 28:7: The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song I will praise him.

Mr. Rivera joined CCS in 2023. He has attended Ekklesia Miami since 2006, where he and his family have served as Worship leaders. He and his wife, Ginna, have three children: Daniella, Ethan, and Gianna. He is also a grandparent of Johanna. Mr. Rivera holds a BA from the University of Puerto Rico in Economics, a BS from Fullsail University in Music Production, and a Certification in Vocal Performance from the AdoraSion Institute of Music. He is currently working towards his master’s degree in theology and leadership. A verse dear to his heart is Galatians 6:9: So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.

Mr. Bush is back at CCS as a part of the Finance Department. He and his wife, Connie, taught here from 1990 to 1992 until it was closed after Hurricane Andrew. He worked several years in the banking industry and as an IT technician. He has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2017. A verse that has helped Mr. Bush remain constant for the Lord is Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Coach Peggy Wells joined the CCS staff in 2017. She has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2020. She and her husband Greg, have three daughters, Megan, Madison and Morgan. Coach Peggy holds an AA from the Baptist Bible College. She has coached high school sports since the late 1980’s – everything from field hockey, basketball, softball, volleyball and swimming. Greg Wells

Assistant Athletic Director

Mr. Wells has served at CCS since 2018. He has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2020. He and his wife Peggy have three girls: Megan, Madison, and Morgan. Mr. Wells holds a BS from Baptist Bible College and a MS in accounting from Strayer University. He is the Assistant Athletic Director and coaches Boys Basketball as well as Cross Country, and multiple middle school sports. He holds a FACCS certificate in MS Humanities. One of his favorite verses is 1 Kings 2:3: Keep the charge of the LORD your God, walk in His ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, His precepts, and His testimonies.

Yuliet O'Hallorans

Yuliet O'Hallorans

Piano & Voice Instructor

Ms. O’Hallorans first served at CCS in the 2015-2016 academic year and will be returning for the 2021-2022 school year. She has attended Calvary Pentecostal Church since 2017. She has a beloved daughter, Sophie. Ms. O’Hallorans has an Associate’s Degree and is currently attending the New World School of the Arts. A verse that is precious to her is Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Pastor Bill Long

Senior Pastor

Pastor Bill Long has served at SDBC since 2004. He and his wife, Carol, have 4 grown sons, and 13 grandchildren (8 of whom attend, or have attended CCS). Pastor Long graduated from Manahath School of Theology in 1985 with a BA in Pastoral Ministries, did pulpit supply for area churches in Pennsylvania, and worked as a Christian counselor at the Altoona Christian Counseling Center. A verse that is precious to him is 2 Chronicles 16:9: For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.

Mrs. Haskins has served as the Senior Pastor’s Secretary at South Dade Baptist Church since February 2019. She has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2015, and married long-time SDBC church member, Chris Haskins, in 2016. Mrs. Haskins holds 30 years of customer service experience. She has two children: Nicholas and Joshua. A verse that is precious to her is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

John Morrissey Sr.

Summer Camp Director

Mr. Morrissey has served at CCS since 2014. He has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 1998. He and his wife, Terri, have two children: John Jr. and Sarah, both CCS graduates and valedictorians. Mr. Morrissey holds a BA from Florida International University in Elementary Education, and a MS in Mathematics Education from Florida State University. He is certified with the State of Florida in Elementary Education, Grades 1-6. A verse that guides his life is 1 Corinthians 10:31: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
