Pastor Bill Long

Senior Pastor

Pastor Bill Long has served at SDBC since 2004. He and his wife, Carol, have 4 grown sons, and 13 grandchildren (8 of whom attend, or have attended CCS). Pastor Long graduated from Manahath School of Theology in 1985 with a BA in Pastoral Ministries, did pulpit supply for area churches in Pennsylvania, and worked as a Christian counselor at the Altoona Christian Counseling Center. A verse that is precious to him is 2 Chronicles 16:9: For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.

Mrs. Morrissey has served at CCS since 2004. She has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 1998. Mrs. Morrissey holds a BS from the University of Miami, MS and Ed.S from Barry University, and Ed.S from Florida International University. She is certified with the State of Florida as a K-12 teacher and reading specialist, and with FACCS as an administrator. A verse that is precious to her is Matthew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Mr. Duncan joins CCS this year as our new Vice Principal. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University and an MBA from Thomas More University. One of the Bible verses most precious to him is James 1:27: “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

Ms. Elisme has joined CCS in 2025. She holds an A.S. degree in Business Administration from Johnson & Wales University, a B.S. in Professional Management, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University. For over 15 years, she has mentored youth through Youth for Christ, helping guide young people toward purpose, leadership, and personal growth. She believes in meeting people where they are, leading with compassion, and being a consistent, dependable presence in the lives of others. She lives by one of her favorite life verses, Matthew 5:16: “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Ms.  Johnson joined CCS in 2023 and is a proud CCS alumni. She holds a FCCPC for Pre-K and has gained experience on getting the national accreditation from NAEYC (National Association for Young Children).  A verse that is precious to her is Romans 8:38-39: “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Mrs. Nelson has served at CCS since 2018 and is a member of South Dade Baptist Church. With more than 25 years of experience in early childhood education, Mrs. Nelson holds a FCCPC for PreK, an Advanced Director Credential with endorsements in VPK, Trauma-Informed Care and Conscious Discipline Social-Emotional Learning and is certified by FACCS as an Early Education Teacher. Throughout her career, Mrs. Nelson has served as both the Director and Principal of a NAEYC nationally accredited preschool, providing leadership in staff development and curriculum initiatives. A verse that is precious to her is Matthew 5:8  “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

Mr. Diaz is an accomplished educator with more than two decades of experience in academic instruction and educational leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University’s College of Arts. He is a certified teacher in the State of Florida for grades K-12. He also holds a North American Montessori Early Childhood Certification, and an International Baccalaureate (IB) Professional Development training. He is a current member of First Baptist Church of Homestead since 2022. His ministry and faith play an important role in his life and career. As a parent, a verse that has always been a guidance is Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he/ she should go: and when he/ she is old, he/ she will not depart from it.”

Mr. Bouwsma is a 30+ year veteran teacher who joined CCS in 2019. He has an AA from Miami Dade College, a BS in Computer Science from Calvin College, and an MAR and M-Div from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He holds Florida state educational certifications in both Mathematics 6-12 and Computers K-12, and has earned a certificate of computer programming, and PLTW certification in robotics and automation. He is certified with FACCS in Bible, General Math, Chemistry, and Computer Technology. One of Mr. Bouwsma’s favorite Bible verses is Romans 12:21: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Mr.  Johnson served at CCS from 2005 – 2011 and joined us again in 2022. Mr. Johnson is the Senior Pastor of Pasos De Fe Church. He is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned his Associates in Pastoral Ministry. He also, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry and Christian Education at Regents University. A Bible verse which is very special to him is from Ezekiel 33:7: “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.”

Tom Davis has served at Colonial Christian school since 2022. He comes to Colonial Christian after more than 30 years of military service. Mr. Eslick joined CCS this school year. He served as a pastor in Chicago for twenty years and then 7 years as a youth evangelist in Miami. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Urban Ministry from Moody Bible Institute and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Liberty University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. One of his favorite verses is 2 Timothy 2:15: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

He is the Assistant Athletic Director and coaches Boys Basketball as well as Cross Country, and multiple middle school sports. He holds a FACCS certificate in MS Humanities. Mr. Hurtado is a man of faith, a devoted husband and father, and a passionate educator committed to developing champions in character, purpose, and life. Having overcome many obstacles that have conquered others and survived some of life’s darkest seasons, he now uses his testimony to inspire others to find hope and victory through Christ. As a coach and athletic leader, he believes sports are a platform to build discipline, leadership, and lasting impact beyond the scoreboard. His mission is to equip young people, strengthen families, and create communities where faith and excellence thrive together. Above all,He strives to honor God by serving others, leading with integrity, and leaving a legacy that points people to Jesus. Mrs. Duncan attends church at South Dade Baptist Church since returning to Florida this year. With over 27 years of experience working with preschool-aged children, she is deeply passionate about nurturing young minds in a safe, loving, and engaging Christian environment. Much of her career has been spent here in Florida, where she finds joy in helping children grow, learn, and thrive during their early developmental years. She holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and is currently in the process of renewing it to continue providing the highest level of care and education.

Mr. Polles  joined CCS in 2022. He served the Coast Guard for 17 years as a volunteer and taught adult boating safety while mastering navigation and search and rescue duties. Mr. Polles has studied agriculture, horticulture and orchidology with the university of Florida and is a master gardener for Dade county. A scripture that stands out to him is Ephesians 2:10: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Mr. Bush is back at CCS since 2017 as a part of the Finance Department. He and his wife, Connie, taught here from 1990 to 1992 until it was closed after Hurricane Andrew. He worked several years in the banking industry and as an IT technician. A verse that has helped Mr. Bush remain constant for the Lord is Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Mr. Abbott has served in Christian education in Miami-Dade County for more than 25 years. He brings 15 years of experience as an Athletic Director. He is experienced in FHSAA and GMAC athletics and is passionate about developing student-athletes into servant leaders through teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and Christ-centered character. Along the way, he has mentored athletes and coaches alike, encouraging them to grow in faith, leadership, and excellence. 

 John believes the lessons learned through sports prepare students for success both on and off the field. His favorite Bible verse is Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Ms. O’Hallorans first served at CCS in the 2015-2016 academic year.  She has an Associate’s Degree and is currently attending the New World School of the Arts. Pastor Bill Long has served at SDBC since 2004. He and his wife, Carol, have 4 grown sons, and 13 grandchildren (8 of whom attend, or have attended CCS). Pastor Long graduated from Manahath School of Theology in 1985 with a BA in Pastoral Ministries, did pulpit supply for area churches in Pennsylvania, and worked as a Christian counselor at the Altoona Christian Counseling Center. A verse that is precious to him is 2 Chronicles 16:9: For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.

Mrs. Haskins has served as the Senior Pastor’s Secretary at South Dade Baptist Church since February 2019. She has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 2015, and married long-time SDBC church member, Chris Haskins, in 2016. Mrs. Haskins holds 30 years of customer service experience. She has two children: Nicholas and Joshua. A verse that is precious to her is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Summer Camp Director

Mr. Morrissey has served at CCS since 2014. He has attended South Dade Baptist Church since 1998. He and his wife, Terri, have two children: John Jr. and Sarah, both CCS graduates and valedictorians. Mr. Morrissey holds a BA from Florida International University in Elementary Education, and a MS in Mathematics Education from Florida State University. He is certified with the State of Florida in Elementary Education, Grades 1-6. A verse that guides his life is 1 Corinthians 10:31: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
